Future School has been developing and delivering educational materials since 1984. Our focus has been on the two core subjects of mathematics and English language, primarily for use in the classroom and as study tutorials in the home, where a student can use the resource for revision, homework or preparation for examinations. The online program has evolved from many years research in the education design and development field, using experienced qualified teachers in their fields of expertise to ensure that the materials provide measurable pedagogical outcomes for the schools, teachers and students.
Future School has, over a period of 6 years, designed, developed and delivered the Basic Skills Tests for Years 3, 5 and 7 for several State Ministries of Education, being responsible for the design, collation, distribution, training, marking, psychometrics and reporting to government, schools and parents with student outcomes.
Future School has developed curricula specifically aligned to schools in each state of Australia, India, New Zealand, The Republic of Ireland, United Kingdom [England & Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland] and the United States of America, aligning its programs to each country/region's syllabus and bench-marking its lessons against Key Stages and appropriate school years and grades.
The Future School programs have also been aligned to the appropriate UK attainment levels with each lesson specifically aligned for teacher's review of the Future School resources in-line with course attainment criteria.
The Future School programs have been accredited throughout the world by governments, specifically the Open Distance Learning and Quality Council (ODLQC), Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT), Curriculum On-line (COL), many Local Education Authorities and School and Academy Trusts.
Future School developed and released its own On-line Learning Management System (LMS) in 2006, which provides for the integration of a student's use at school and in the home. This important break through enabled the resources to be assigned by teachers in the classroom and used by students anywhere and anytime - 24/7 access. The LMS was specifically designed to be platform independent, capable of being utilised by PC, MacIntosh, Linux systems with broadband internet access and a web browser being the only necessary criteria.
For many schools the availability of quality resources is critical to their overall classroom delivery and with the advent of computers in the classroom, electronic whiteboards, projectors and computer labs, the importance has escalated dramatically. For many, the problem continues because schools have or are implementing their own Learning Management Systems (LMS) and they are determined to implement their own resource centre for their students to access the necessary materials.
For your school to use its own LMS the materials must be 2004V3 Scorm compliant to be interfaced successfully and to ensure that your LMS is capable of downloading the materials for use by the teachers and students on demand. Future School's Online mathematics and English language content is 2004V3 Scorm compliant and can be accessed by any Scorm compliant LMS.
What that fundamentally means for your school is that the Future School lesson materials can be distributed to your school by any Learning Management System (or Learning Platform) that is capable of delivering SCORM compliant materials in-line with global educational standards and best practice, including being compliant to Curriculum Online (COL) metadata tagging specifications.
Future School enhances the teaching within schools by providing the appropriate tools to assist teachers to effectively monitor each student's progress both in the classroom and through homework activities;
